This is just fantastic! You have sung the classic wonderfully! You have more than adequately compensated for the lack of instrumental accompaniment through your soulful rendition. Great job. Keep doing more.

How come you removed your writing blog? That is the blog I have linked to - should I remove that and add this blog as the link?

Thank you for your comments on my recent work. You will get to see it when you come down to CLE. Leo and yourself are invited to stay with us anytime you visit.

Thanks for the encouragement Arvindh - I am not too savy with the technicalities of recording using a computer - I am just using the Windows Sound recorder application - slowly trying to try out a good mixing software and them will try using Karaoke tracks - BTW my writing blog is still there - this is a seperate blog.

Anitha, you have a very beautiful voice. I loved your rendition. Could you please update me whenever you post a new song in your blog? I maintain a directory of audio blogs from India and it would help me update it there. (http://audioindia.blogspot.com)

Hi Anitha,

That was really awesome! Me, Priya and my dad listened to this this morning. You have a great voice and have equaled S.Janaki in this song. Just a small note: the slight smile that Janaki induces during the song is noticeable. I know you tried it and it came well. However, I am sure you can do it better too if you give another try.

Hi Shera and M,

Thanks for the comments. Please visit often.
Shera, I apologize for such a delayed response, I hadn't set up comment moderation untill recently and I complete missed some coments on older posts. In response to your questions...I am afraid I'm not going to be of much use to you...I abuse my voice so badly..I talk way too loud especially when friends are around, to the point that it gets hoarse by the time they leave. I have sinus issues and I'm supposed to avoid citrus and cold stuff...I never follow this rule and I end up getting a cold and stuffy nose which needless to say wrecks havoc with my voice.

However these are things that I hear help out: a spoon of honey 30 minutes before any performance or recording.
Warm milk with turmeric powder and fresh ground pepper corns before sleeping the night before a concert or recording.
As for breathing...if you practice a sing, you will know where the tough spots are in terms of holding your breath...I would watch out for the phrase and then consciously take a good breath in just before the lengthy phrase begins...again the key is practice. I have lost much of my singing ability after I came to the US and stopped singing professionally ...the reason for this blog is to give myself a reason to practice.

It is a talent that you have been gifted with - don't let it go to waste - Everyone dreams of having a voice and not many of us are as fortunate as you are - so keep up the practice and don't lose that gift. Take care :))))

Hi can I ask if you could record this song -it is a very beautiful song and I am sure you would have heard this. This is from Kalaingan -sung by Yesudos and Janaki - the song "Enthan Nenjil Neengatha" If you could sing and record this I am sure many of us will be eternally grateful. I do apologize if I do sound demanding - it is just that you have a nice voce and it is a lovely song .

Thank you

Hi M,
I will try. As you can see my last post was a few months back..I haven't had the time and the mindset to post after that...will definitely try. Thanks again for all the encouragement.
